What is feddy.ca?

About Jon Fedyk
I am a IT professional with a background of over 15 years in computer technology. I have been an amateur web developer since 1999 and have spent much of my free time since then navigating the areas of browser compatibility, hosting pitfalls and development languages. In my current position, I work managing Intel servers for a leading insurance company. The nickname feddy came naturally in high school and continues to be in use today through no help of my own, hence it seemed a natural fit for a site name for this site.
If you came here looking for Jon Fedyk, this is not the Jon Fedyk you are looking for. Move along.
About this site
feddy.ca is a place to publish my thoughts on getting started on the web and other topics. I try to keep my articles understandable to the average person with no web background who may be considering a website. I encourage the use of standards and using open source applications and tools. Hopefully this site can prove useful to you.
Browser Support
Modern browsers are supported on feddy.ca, which includes the current and previous major version of Firefox (3, 3.5), Opera (9, 10), Safari (3, 4 – works on Windows too!), Google Chrome, or Internet Explorer (7, 8). Internet Explorer 6 and earlier are not fully supported; your viewing experience may not be optimal. IE6 and its predecessors are eight-years or more old, which is an eternity in technology terms. If you are using an operating system which does not support upgrading to a newer version of IE (Windows 2000 or earlier) then I seriously recommend switching to one of the other browsers if upgrading your operating system is not an option. Your web viewing experience will be better and safer.
